As a former Squad Club President, Retired,

I am on a journey to build-out a detailed community for former and current departmental employees regardless of 'Work Task.'

It is my purpose to rekindling or re-ignite the associations, friendships and purposeful lives we enjoyed working for the department.

Regardless of whether you were in a 'support' role' or out there on the roadways, We all worked toward ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic on the roadways in California.

We foster 'Open' communication within a community 'Group' setting. This will feed and nurture membership growth and facilitates a robust, healthy interaction on a deeply personal level.

A special message from ChippyTim:

From time to time, as a former California Highway Patrol Motorcycle Officer, Retired, I would receive the sad news of the passing of a friend, colleague or someone in the departmental extended family. It just seems the number just seems to grow with each passing of a new year. In 2010 it hit closer to home for me when I got the news we lost another officer working the roadways of California, But this time it was my room dawg, in CTC II-90, Brett J. Oswald, #13164. Dam that bites and it really hit home for me.

This has always weighed on my mind and finally, an opportunity came to me to bring back the memories of those who came before us and shed some light on a career with a memorable past. Time is the one constant which yields for no man. Anyone who has worked with me or knows me will tell you the same thing. If you tell the truth and the story never changes and the key to living a fulfilling long life is meaningful inter action with in a community. Several friends, both on the department and those I have run across in my over 65 years on earth, can attest I have poured many years over the past twenty-five years of communication, sweat and tears into this project. The ultimate goal is to make this, a community, as seamless and forgiving as possible without having to rely on commercially available social media platforms.

One of my biggest challenges was not using current ‘Social Media’ platforms which are ubiquitous and popular with all of us. So my thinking was why re-invent the wheel? But how do you facilitate a healthy, robust experience for the membership.

Thank-you for your interest in 'Squad Club'. We believe you, like me, will find hours of value as a valued community member. You may want to know more about this worthwhile endeavor as it evolves.
